you first buy one. I would recommend a Linksys Wireless-G router. If you have it at home only in the CD that came with it, and it will put you through setting it up on foot. Your router does have a history page for inbound and outbound traffic, whether or not you can delete it depends on your given router, probably not.

I got the Belkin N1 Vision as a replacement for my boring (though fairly dependable) ZyXEL MIMO router.

In all, it looks good, but the WEP security setting is incompatible with my MacBook Pro and unstable with some Windows XP laptops in the home. Switching it to WPA1 (not WPA2) makes is more compatible.

It feels good to be able to see what’s going on through the network. Finally seeing the invisible!

Yes, it is all you need to do is to plug the router at home, but you need to reset your DSL modem by pulling the plug .. But make sure the router if you have more help let me know to put to the modem first … I have to do fixing computers since I was 5 and networking, since I was 13.

I’ma have to give a further 1 to Linksys WRT54G2 … which indicates that – it’s a few versions of this one … but I have / have a DLink G router, and I personally say Linksys is more secure, stable and a little more relaxation in the neck. DLink Linksys support and promotion of both neck and neck as very ignorant and stupid. Excuse my feelings. Only some know how with a little tech. in the first place. Most will DLink because it say very “user friendly” interface, and how almost everything is straight, whereas in the Linksys router, you have to actually read manuals and so on. But then again, at the end of the day it comes to your budget.
