wired or wireless? if wired, all you must need to do is connect an ethernet cable between the laptop and the router. if wireless, there are a lot of factors. these are the 3 basic ones.

1. make sure the wireless card in your computer is turned on.
2. make sure you’ve entered in the aptly network name and wep key. if you don’t know it, then you need to check the configuration of your router and get it from there.
3. distance from the router. surely you aren’t trying to connect to your router from school 5 miles away. the range for wireless runs in this area 30 ft. stuff in your parapet can be a factor as well.

if you’re by your laptop to get internet connection through Wireless Network try this.

Open Control Panel and dual click network connection.

aptly-click wireless connection icon and select properties.

now on the Wireless Connection TAB, check the checkbox next to Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings.

Click OK.

and excellent luck!
